I'm grateful to have had several classes at Gunsite and to be a long time member of The Well Armed Woman that shoots once a month at Gunsite. Mindset is everything when protecting yourself. That couldn't have been more clear very early this morning when someone was banging on my front door. It startled me out of a dead sleep, and then they pounded again. I reached for my 9mm, and in the dark was able to confirm a round in the chamber and that the magazine was secure. I then grabbed my cell phone to call 911. After giving the dispatcher my details, he said the police were on their way. The police arrived and did a perimeter check and spoke to me briefly to ensure I was okay. Everything I learned at Gunsite prepared me for this reaction - especially in the dark - to stay calm and to have my firearm ready to eliminate the threat. Thank you, Gunsite Instructors!
