I completed the week-long 250 Pistol course in February 2018. As a former federal agent and military I've received some of the best firearms training in the world, so I wasn't sure what to expect when I arrived in Paulden. What an outstanding experience - from the time I arrived at the Gunsite classroom (known as 'Revelation') on a Monday, to the 5th & final day of training, I was extremely impressed with the organization & detailed instruction (with an emphasis on safety). My instructors (Steve Hendricks (retired LE), Col. Freddie Blish (Marine-retired), and Monte Gould (retired LE & Army/Marine), were very professional, knowledgeable & friendly--great guys! We had a full class of 24 (20 male & 4 female), and included mostly non-law enforcement, with a small number of current & former law enforcement/military. All arrived with the intention of becoming a better shooter. And Gunsite did NOT disappoint! At the conclusion of the course I left with a renewed shooter mind-set & gun handling skills to safely draw & shoot with accuracy, power & speed (Diligentia, Vis, Celeritas). And from the comments I heard from my fellow classmates, they all appeared to be very impressed, and I believe all left Gunsite with a big smile!! And please don't forget to visit their pro-shop. For all shooters it's like being a kid in a candy store! And lastly, a hearty & enthusiastic thank you to the late Jeff Cooper & everyone at Gunsite for providing such a valuable service for our gun-loving citizens & our country.
