Private Self Defense Tutorial

Catherine and I want to express our sincere appreciation to everyone at Gunsite, instructors and staff alike, for the special training week that we have just experienced. Living as we do in a foreign country for most of each year, we felt that we needed quality range time to bring our skills from prior training up to speed again. Beyond that however, we also wanted to develop proficiency with the carbine, rifle and shotgun and to learn some solid basic defensive tactical skills that we might employ as a couple in the event of an attempted home invasion (becoming more common in our area), carjacking or even kidnapping. Training Director Lew Gosnell took the time to thoroughly understand our needs and put together a tailored five day tutorial that covered everything we wanted and more. Our instructors were top-notch, experts in their respective fields, who focused their training on exactly what was needed. Their training completely exceeded our expectations and gave us a new skill set that leaves us feeling much more comfortable that we are prepared to defend ourselves from violent attack should it become necessary. We highly recommend Gunsite to anyone seeking to learn a defensive mindset and good solid practical skills to go along with it. The standard courses that we have taken were excellent, being challenging while also being thoroughly enjoyable. But we especially appreciate the individual tailored training they can provide for special circumstances such as ours. These courses are life changing, but others should be forewarned that the skills learned are perishable if not constantly practiced. That said, we plan on practicing extensively on our own and on returning to Gunsite periodically in the future for more training. J. & C.
