I had owned a pistol for some time and had been shooting most of my life. I'd even taught my son. I was looking forward to a week in Arizona, if nothing else to get away from winter. The class started slowly with basic gun handling, reloading and discipline - taught me a lot. From that base we started serious target shooting, everything from a draw. Over the whole week, the timing was getting shorter and you are forced to get faster. Then we moved into the shoot houses and desert draws shooting steel - absolutely awesome. They bill this class as the 'beginner' class. It is nothing of the sort! In one week, about 50 hours of classroom and live-fire, everyone leaves with better skills than most people who carry firearms for a living.
