The frost is on the pumpkin, and the turkey is getting nervous. Hunting season is in full swing in most states and we all look forward to filling our freezers at this time of year. Happy Birthday Marine Corps. Happy Birthday NRA. Thank a Veteran for their service everyday.
Classes left for 2014 with openings are the 250 Pistol classes November 10-14 and December 8-12, and the 350 Lowlight November 17-21 and a 223 carbine December 8-12.
The 2015 calendars have arrived and should be going out in the mail this week. If you don’t receive yours by Thanksgiving, give us a call and we will put one in the mail. We think it is the best calendar yet and you will find some new and exciting courses being offered next year.
Keep your eye on our Gunsite Store Raven link on the front page of the Gunsite Website. We have launched an exciting new store front that will make giving the gift of Gunsite smarter, safer and easier. There will be new sale items posted every week through Christmas. This week the first 100 customers will be able to purchase the Gunsite License Plate for $1.00 with any order over $25.
Keep in mind that the gift of a Gunsite class is the greatest gift you can give this Holiday season. Nothing says “I Love You” and “Happy Holidays” like the gift of a Gunsite Training Certificate or a new firearm.
In October we ran the pilot for the Vehicle Defense class and it was a huge success. Defensive Vehicle Tactics will be May 25-29 and October 5-9 in 2015. This class was created by popular demand from our clients who spend much of the day in their vehicles.. Also offered next year is a new Team Tactics for Two four day class August 3-6 and December 14-17, 2015.
Graduates of a 250, 260 or 223 class have three new two day classes available that are simulator only classes for Pistol, Shotgun and Carbine. Since we all look forward to the real life scenarios in our training classes, this class should be fun and exciting. They will be offered in July and October.
Back by popular demand we will be running three Edged Weapons classes next year with our lead Close Quarters Instructor John Hutchison. These classes will be offered in January, May and October.
Make sure and checkout our Gunsite Facebook page and go to photo albums where you can enjoy and re-live your Gunsite experiences through the many new faces we have seen in 2014.
As we enter this busy season of holidays, giving, and receiving and celebrating with friends and family we want to be sure to focus our attentions on what is important to us. With the world in turmoil and the Ebola threat hovering in our midst, keep in mind that your firearms training may be the most valuable insurance policy you can have in your prevention tool box. Gunsite’s attendance in 2014 is proof that the concerned citizen is preparing for all options.
We have seen a surge in training women and mature youth especially this year. Everyone in your family should know how to handle the firearms available to them. In June and July 2014 we will be running a Youth 250 Pistol class concurrently with our regular 250 Pistol Class. Bring your children out and help them grow up Gunsite Strong.
HIGHLY PERISHABLE SKILLS:
Since you left the ranch your firearms skills have deteriorated markedly. You need some practice. Mark your calendar today. Take a youngster out to shoot. You need the practice and the youngster will get a kick out of it. Someone did it for us. This is the way we pass on the traditions, responsibility, and American Heritage to the next generation. Don’t make excuses, just get it done. Do it often. Remember eye and ear protection, Rules 1 through 4, and clean up after yourself. Drop me a note and let me know you completed this assignment before Thanksgiving.
Happy Turkey Day,
Semper Fi, Marines
