October was a grand month at the Gunsite Ranch. Classes of all types were not deterred by the unusual rains. (We are grateful for the moisture.) Rather, they now know that they can fight in the rain and not just when it is sunny and 70 degrees.
Another mass murder has occurred in the Republic, in a house of worship. The liberals are again blaming the tool as opposed to the operator. You must understand, YOU ARE THE FIRST RESPONDER. PLAN ACCORDINGLY. Gun free zones are easy targets for the miscreants. Do not go unarmed. Wear your carry pistol. Carry reloads. Think about an IFAK. When did you train last? When did you speak with your family and friends about what to do WHEN it happens? If you have not done these things, your failure to plan is a plan to fail. When an armed citizen intervenes, the injuries and deaths are decreased. Plan Accordingly!
Election Day is upon us. We continue in our battles to protect the Constitution and Bill of Rights. Study your candidates and be sure to vote for those will support our way of life and support our unalienable rights as stated in our Constitution and Bill of Rights. Also, it is an opportunity to send a message to those who are not up for re-election that you are watching their actions as well.
Not long after election day, we raise up and celebrate those who paid for our liberty and freedom to participate in free elections. Veteran’s Day is to recognize those many citizens who chose to serve the Republic, some with their lives, allowing us to enjoy the freedoms we do. Please remember our veterans and their families on the “11th day of the 11th month . . .”
We are in Indiana and Tennessee in early November for 123 Carbine and 150 Pistol. What a great opportunity to make your first Gunsite venture or get that needed tune-up. The ever increasing in popularity “Range Days” continue at Gunsite with a Shotgun Range Day on November 3. (Range Days are one (1) or two (2) day refreshers or updates.) You must be a graduate of the particular discipline to take a Range Day Class.
The 250 Pistol Class with Crimson Trace is November 5-9. You do not need to have a laser on your pistol to attend. However, it you do have one, it is a great opportunity to learn the “ins and outs” of them with the Crimson Trace folks here to support.
The Night 556 and Night 350 are in November as well. We can only offer these with the early sunset. Classes begin about Noon and run until about 2200 or so. Can you fight effectively with your pistol or carbine in low-light situations?
We also look to celebrating Thanksgiving in November. Our Republic is the greatest nation in the world. Despite the strife and on-going rude actions and commentary, we have so much to be thankful for. Keep this in mind when responding to comments from those who disagree with your thinking. Jeff Cooper appreciated and encouraged polite adult discussion. It need not turn to rudeness and name-calling. So, look inward and recognize all the goodness in your life. Share that thankfulness with others.
If you are considering a (another) course at Gunsite in 2019, remember to enroll prior to January 1, 2019 to get the 2018 tuition prices in 2018.
If you are on social media, remember to “follow” or “like” us on Facebook, Pintrest, Instagram, etc. Also, reviews on Yelp and Trip Advisor are appreciated.
Looking forward to seeing you (back) at Gunsite.
