Spring has sprung at Gunsite. The weather is warming up, the sun is shining, and great training is underway on the ranges.
As I write this, we are grateful that our students and staff at Royal Range in Nashville TN are unhurt from last night’s tornado. Coming from tornado alley, I understand the great damage tornadoes cause. Royal Range had some leaks, but their staff was in early making sure our 250 Pistol Course continued. Our thoughts and prayers are with the citizens and emergency responders as they work to help the injured and repair damages.
This is “Super Tuesday.” We are now seeing the clear intentions of the liberal presidential candidates and their lack of support and understanding of the Second Amendment, Bill of Rights and Constitution. Blumberg made it very clear guns are to protect the elite. Biden wants Beto to be his “gun control czar.” Sanders is a socialist at best. It is time to be sure you and other like-minded folks are registered to vote and make sure you get out and vote. Not only is the Constitution at stake, the Supreme Court is in a position to have a strong Conservative base for many years if we re-elect President Trump. Do not sit this election out.
Gunsite returns to Alaska in June for a five (5) day Pistol/Carbine class under the tutelage of RMs Eric Ingersoll and Chris Currie. Thanks to our Gunsite family Sam Narramore and Steve Nelson for doing the groundwork to make this happen. This class is full! We will make plans to return in 2021! Thanks to all the great Alaska Gunsite Family.
The winner of the “Guess the Weight” of the lead mined from the ranges . . . Brent Schmelzle. Brent was within about 700# of the 45,003 pounds recovered. We had several hundred entrants in my email. The ranges look so smooth and ready for a busy Spring.
Have you seen the information on the Jeff and Janelle Cooper 100th birthday celebration? Details are in the newsletter. May 24 we will host one hundred (100) contestants in a match similar to what Jeff Cooper did at Big Bear in California with the Southwest Pistol League. The top 16 or so shooters will then shoot a “J-Ladder” for first place. This match is a single stack 1911 match. No race guns, no competition holsters, no extended magazines. Think what Jeff would have in his holster. The match is about half-full now. (There is a Pistol Range Day on the day preceding the match if you need to tune up!)
Next week we have a double 250 Pistol Course, a 350 Pistol and a private alphabet agency here. We also have our industry partner Davidson’s here to show off some products to their sales staff. The following week we have a private Revolver Class, the Tactical Medicine two (2) day class, Battle Rifle, Seasoned Citizen 350 and more. This will be the inaugural Seasoned Citizen 350. The SC 250 was so popular some folks took it more than once. Now you can have the opportunity to “run faster and jump higher” with this next level course.
The Tac Med Class is sandwiched on a weekend so you can come early or stay over for two days and get this necessary training. It teaches you how to keep people alive until the medical professionals arrive. Further, it is good if you work a range or simply go out hiking.
Headed to the NRA Annual Meeting in Nashville? We have courses at Royal Range preceding, during, and following. If you are already headed to Nashville, this is a great opportunity to get Gunsite training in 150 Pistol, 160 Shotgun and Edged Weapons.
The 123 Carbine Class returns to the Lebanon IN Police Range on April 17. The three (3) day class is a great introduction to Gunsite and The Modern Technique or an outstanding refresher if you’ve had Carbine training.
Classes here at the Gunsite Ranch are filling more quickly than 2019. If you have a particular class in mind, it might be wise to get it booked before it fills.
Do you follow us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pintrest? We try to post regularly there. The Facebook Live and Instagram TV seem to be very popular. Please feel free to share any and all of our posts.
That’s about it for today from the Gunsite Ranch?
And, as I like to say at the end of my Facebook live videos . . .
“When are you coming to Gunsite?
