This is the class picture of the first ever two day ladies shotgun class at Gunsite taught by Rangemistress Il Ling New.
These women were in our Ladies 250 Pistol class in October and they had so much fun they wanted to come back. During the pistol class they talked about shotguns being the best home defense weapon. For Christmas they all got shotguns and guess what?
They put this class together as soon as the weather permitted. Most of the women were shooting 870 Pump Action 12 and 20 gauge tactical shotguns!
The ages of these women went from the early thirties to seventy. Each of them were determined to conquer this intimidating firearm. And guess what they found out?
Shotguns aren’t intimidating at all. In fact they are very empowering. Easy to manipulate, and the sound of the pump action is enough to frighten the perpetrator without opening the door.
Another thing about the shotgun is the distance of their accuracy. 50 yards, two slugs, 1 inch apart. Now that is wow factor Standing, sitting, kneeling and sitting, in all positions these women were learning to be confident and strong in their environments.
At home, on the ranch and in the office these six ladies can certainly take care of themselves.
