Ted Ajax came to Gunsite to study under Jeff Cooper in 1980 and completed Col. Cooper’s Provost Instructor Course and apprenticeship in 1993. He founded and served as the Medical Director of the TEMS (Tactical Emergency Medical Support) Unit of the Cascade County Sheriff’s Office Tactical Response Team (SWAT), as well as serving as an operational team member for many years. He is a lifelong competitive shooter and hunter, having hunted extensively on the North American and African continents. Ted enjoys sharing what he has learned with students of every background and skill level, but particularly enjoys working with new students to develop their skill and confidence. As an Instructor, Ted teaches pistol and rifle classes.
