The Director of Training for Gunsite Academy, Dave Hartman is a former U.S. Marine and a 27-year veteran of the Orange County California Sheriff’s Department. He retired as a Patrol Sergeant in 2012. During his career he worked all facets of Law Enforcement. Highlights of his career included being an initial member of the C.I.R.T., Field Training Officer, and lead instructor at the departments Tactical Training Center. There, he conducted and supervised firearms, driving, and use of force training for police recruits and advanced officers. He has been on staff since 2010. He teaches pistol, carbine, shotgun, and youth classes.
