Robert Doak first attended Gunsite in 2000 in a Precision Rifle Class and took numerous Gunsite classes in the following year. In 2022, heretired as a Lieutenant after 26 years with the Metro Nashville Police Department and 22 years with Metro SWAT. His primary SWAT duty was as a sniper and he served as Assistant Team Leader and Team Leader. He taught pistol, carbine and long gun for the team and over his career he served in Patrol, Intelligence (CIS with Ron Fielder), Gang Unit, SRT and the Training Academy. Doak received his Gunsite Instructor certification in 2021 and teaches pistol and carbine.
Gunsite actively searches out the very best firearms instructors
Gunsite Instructors are highly trained men and women who have been there done that. They have a background of military, law enforcement or have a high degree and experience of training in their field. Many have been on our faculty since Jeff Cooper was the lead instructor at Gunsite. They are active and retired Marines, Special Forces, Navy, Army and Air Force from Enduring Freedom, Viet Nam and Law Enforcement Agencies around the Country.
Ashley Dooley
Ashley Dooley is an Agent in Middle Tennessee. She has 13 years of experience as a Probation Officer and Patrol Officer, including her current role. A six-year firearms instructor at her agency, Ashley specializes in handgun and carbine techniques and training. One of three female firearm instructors in the state of Tennessee, Ashley is also a firearms instructor and Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) instructor for Personal Responsibility, LLC.
Ashley is passionate about empowering men and women to gain and hone the skills needed to protect themselves and their families. She offers unique and multi-prong perspectives of the trends in current and historical events from criminal and social services points of view.
First attending Gunsite in 2018, Ashley is married to fellow Gunsite Rangemaster Jeff Dooley. They reside in TN with their three cats.
