Gunsite will be hosting the Pat Rogers Memorial Revolver Round Up again in 2024! The event will be capped at 100 students to ensure a quality training level, so sign up early. This year’s instructor cadre will include the founders of the event Darryl Bolke and Wayne Dobbs. Additional instructors will be Mark Fricke, Dave Dolan, Lew Gosnell, Chuck Haggard, Cecil Burch, Greg Ellifritz, Bryan Eastridge, and Caleb Giddings. All of these instructors have decades of real-world experience running revolvers. The Assistant Instructors will be Gunsite Rangemasters Freddie Blish and Erick Gelhaus. Guest Lecture speakers will be James S. Williams, MD (Tactical Anatomy) and Mike Woods (Newhall Shooting).
Pat Rogers was a Gunsite graduate and long-time Rangemaster. A legendary instructor, he had deep experience in the USMC, and was a highly decorated NYPD Sergeant. Pat was scheduled to teach at the Revolver Round Up in 2016 in Dallas, TX, but sadly passed away prior to the event. From that point on the event became dedicated to both Pat’s memory and to honor Pat’s dedication to training and the passing on of his knowledge and wisdom.
The event starts Friday night with a social BBQ provided by vendors and supporters. Saturday and Sunday have numerous scheduled classes that students can attend in the morning and afternoon sessions. These classes are structured to provide each instructor’s perspective on various aspects of the strengths and weaknesses in utilizing a revolver as an option for defensive use in the modern world. Monday is dedicated to allowing students to move around independently to shoot various qualification shoots, manufacturers demo shoots, a ballistic gel shoot, classroom presentations and other short events. In addition, a raffle takes place benefitting the Jeff Cooper Legacy Foundation during lunch on Monday, in which numerous guns and related gear are raffled.

I took Rifle 270 years ago. I did not do particularly well, but I discovered what I needed to change on my rifle and scope, as well as what I needed to practice. After that I had very successful hunts in Africa, Canada, Alaska and Mexico.
