“It was the best of times; it was the worst of times …”
Trying to be polite and discuss election day . . .
The decisions are upon us on November 5.
Once again, so much rides on who leads the Republic from the White House and who sits in the Senate and House of Representatives. Please note I did not say they were our leaders. Rather, remember that we put them in office, and they are our employees.
Make sure you have studied all the issues locally, state-wide, and nationally. Make sure you are making an educated decision based upon the facts and your beliefs of the Republic. Make decisions based upon our Constitution and Bill of Rights and how they are interpreted and ruled upon by local, state, appellate, and Supreme Courts.
Be polite and professional and speak on what you believe to be right, but also be willing to listen (not argue) with those of differing views.
As our industry colleague Jim Shepherd says: “We will keep you posted.”
What busy times we continue to have here at the Gunsite Ranch. October finished and November started with a triple 250 Pistol (Including one with our long-time industry partner Crimson Trace) and another long-time partner Mossberg with a media event for weapon systems we can’t publicly discuss yet. I also can’t forget the large Ladies’ Pistol Class last week alongside our friends “The Third Thursday Warriors” ladies’ private group celebrating their 10th anniversary of coming to Gunsite and the monthly meeting of the Gunsite Chapter of The Armed Women of America.
The first weekend of November is the two (2) day Edged Weapons and the first Gunsite Performance Pistol Class.
The Gunsite Performance Pistol Class is an advanced level quickness and accuracy pistol symposium instructed by Gunsite Alumni Rob Leatham and Gunsite Rangemasters Lew Gosnell and Randy Watt. This will be an intensive three(3) days. There is still time to enroll if you meet the prerequisites: https://www.gunsite.com/classes/gunsite-performance-pistol-symposium/
There is much more in November as well with a Defensive 3 Gun with Walt Wilkinson and Guy Coursey, the ever-popular Pistol Range Day, a Pistol 150 (3-day class), Team Tactics for Two 3-Day class, 250 Pistol, 499 Pistol with Optics, 150 Basic Revolver (3-Day), 223 Carbine, 250 Pistol and more.
But what more could there be? Several private classes are scheduled. Have you considered putting together a group of like-minded friends and family and having your own class? We do this regularly. Contact Training Director Dave Hartman (hartman@gunsite.com)for details.
The 3rd annual Pat Rogers Memorial Revolver Round Up is set for the weekend preceding Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, many of you failed to listen to Ken’s advice and enroll early. It sold out weeks ago and several are on the cancellation list. Start thinking about 2025.
Thanksgiving . . . Hard to believe it is four (4) weeks away. There is much for us to be grateful for. However, often we tend to focus on the negative, forgetting the many who wish they had our Republic to live in and the blessing we have.
This was a lesson I learned very early on as a young Deputy and fortunately, that grizzled field training officer made it a part of my everyday life as a LEO and I tried to pass it onto those I trained.
With Thanksgiving only a month away, so is Christmas. Make sure you review the many sales in the Gunsite Pro Shop on guns, merchandise, and gun and class combination specials. What better gift for you family or yourself? Let Gunsite help Santa with that Christmas list!
Enough for now . . .
Remember and be thankful for your blessings.
When are you coming to Gunsite?
DVC,
Ken
