Guy Coursey is a retired Marine Corps Lieutenant Colonel. He served over 23 years as a Combat Engineer officer, including overseas tours to OIF and OEF as an Embedded Training Team leader, where he earned a Bronze Star. After retiring in 2014, he went on to serve as a nuclear security supervisor and senior instructor for four years, moving on to be the lead firearms and tactics instructor at several ranges in North Carolina. An avid student of the martial arts and practical shooting disciplines, he is a NC Concealed Carry instructor and holds multiple instructor and armorer certifications from a variety of practical shooting organizations, including the NRA, Sig Sauer, Smith and Wesson and Glock. He has been shooting competitively since high school, and is currently active in IDPA, USPSA, 3-Gun and other practical shooting sports. Guy is currently a contributing editor at On Target Magazine, and has been on staff at Gunsite since 2005.
