Gunsite is a special place, made so by the people that work there.

My intention for attending the class was wanting to learn better shooting technique. I have walked away from the class with basic shooting fundamentals that I'll spend the rest of my life mastering. I was not prepared for all the other things I learned. I most appreciated the respect the instructors imbued into the lessons. It came from a place of regard for others' well being, and as I realized the value contained in that respect, I discovered in myself that I had not previously given this consideration its due attention. The classes not only provided time on the range, but also plenty of time to shoot-the-shit, with my classmates. It was enriching to make new friends and be a part of the wealth of personal experiences shared in those conversations. I hope to come back for the 350 class sometime in the fall. I will keep practicing till then. To answer question #9 on the evaluation form. I would say the strengths for the class are abundant. The class curriculum is strong and well developed. The instructors are caring and knowledgeable. It is a unique time taken away from daily life to attend school with like minded people, much fun and learning is to be had. My only critique of that class is that I would want more of it. I want more time practicing and drilling. I wish there was a way to have time at the range to work on personal things, outside of the class time. Maybe there could even be a range people could go to, that is off campus, in case there are too many liability issues. Beyond that, I wish everyone could take part in the incredible education that is happening at your school. Gaining proficiency with a firearm not only builds one's own confidence but also goes to build confidence in safer communities. Living in NYC I hear non-stop negative opinions of firearms, never ending myths from people who have never gone to a shooting range, who simply repeat what they have heard on the news. I wish more people would understand the second amendment, to understand that the "militia" is not a professional army, the way we have dedicated people who are soldiers in modern times, it is every able person capable of owning a firearm. Protecting yourself, and your freedom is the same thing. It would be great if that was the story on the news. I hope I can provide you with word of mouth business. I think there is a story to tell and I hope your school can be shared to a larger audience.
