Thanksgiving
“By the President of the United States of America.
A PROCLAMATION.
The time of year has come when, in accordance with the wise custom of our forefathers, it becomes my duty to set aside a special day of thanksgiving and praise to the Almighty because of the blessings we have received, and of prayer that these blessings may be continued. Yet another year of widespread well-being has past. Never before in our history or in the history of any other nation has a people enjoyed more abounding material prosperity than is ours; a prosperity so great that it should arouse in us no spirit of reckless pride, and least of all a spirit of heedless disregard of our responsibilities; but rather a sober sense of our many blessings, and a resolute purpose, under Providence, not to forfeit them by any action of our own.
Material well-being, indispensable though it is, can never be anything but the foundation of true national great-ness and happiness. If we build nothing upon this foundation, then our national life will be as meaningless and empty as a house where only the foundation has been laid. Upon our material well-being must be built a superstructure of individual and national life lived in accordance with the laws of the highest morality, or else our prosperity itself will in the long run turn out a curse instead of a blessing. We should be both reverently thankful for what we have received, and earnestly bent upon turning it into a means of grace and not of destruction.
Accordingly I hereby set apart Thursday, the twenty-ninth day of November, next, as a day of thanksgiving and supplication, on which the people shall meet in their homes or their churches, devoutly to acknowledge all that has been given them, and to pray that they may in addition receive the power to use these gifts aright.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the United States to be affixt.
Done at the City of Washington this 22nd day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and six and of the independence of the United States the one hundred and thirty-first.

Despite some of the strife the Republic faces daily, we continue to live in the greatest Republic in the world. There is much to be thankful for and that continues to be our focus.

Concerned about holiday gifts and supply chain issues? Fearful that special item is in a Conex off the shore of California? Gunsite has the answer. A gift certificate for a class or the Gunsite Pro Shop is available! Once size fits all. It can be emailed to you.

If you are ordering items from the Pro Shop for the holidays, we are dependent upon the shippers UPS and USPS. We usually ship same day or next. But, the shippers are not as reliable as they once were. So, order early so your packages arrive timely.
Time to start thinking about 2022 training. If you register prior to December 31, 2021 for a class in 2022, you avoid the small tuition increase for 2022. You also avoid the risk of not getting in the class you planned on. Look at the schedule and make that commitment. Whose life depends on it?

When are you coming to Gunsite? Some folks get concerned about January and February classes at Gunsite. The weather is spotty in that it may be cold and may have a bit of snow, but don’t look at the Flagstaff weather and think it is Gunsite. It often starts cold, but warms up nicely. (The same have concerns in the summer and look at Phoenix and think it is Gunsite.) Put a heat pack in each pocket, dress in layers and life is good!
SHOT Show 2022 is still on the schedule. We do not have a booth there, but we have a significant presence. Buz, Ken, Jane Anne, Lew, Dave and many instructors walk the floor (and walk and walk and walk) visiting our industry partners and also Gunsite family. We hope SHOT happens and we see many of you there.

Watch the web page and social media for a new and unique training opportunity for Spring 2022. Don’t want to be the spoiler just yet and a few details need to be sorted out, but something we have not offered in the past.
As you gather on Thanksgiving with those you hold dear, remembering those who cannot be with us, serving in various capacities, let us give thanks to Almighty God for the many blessings we enjoy. We offer many thanks for the freedoms across our land, we acknowledge God as the source of all good gifts. We ask Him for protection and wisdom and for opportunities this Thanksgiving to share with others.
God Bless the Republic,
Ken
