Whew . . . Where did August go and how is it the 8th of September already?
So much has happened and is happening in our world.
“Be on the Alert, Stand firm in the Faith, Act like Men, Be Strong.” 1 Corinthians 16:13
With that said, it is clear why Gunsite is seeing an exponential amount of new gun owners in our 250/223/260 courses. More and more people are recognizing the state of the world and know they are the First Responder for themselves and their families.
As some of you know, Mike Moore (Gunsmith and Gunsite Rangemaster) was tragically killed in a traffic accident near Prescott in June. In Mike’s honor, Gunsite will be holding a Memorial Service in the Gunsite Classroom (Revelations) on Sunday morning September 26 at 11:00 AM. Friends and family will be present to celebrate Mike’s life. Should you wish to attend, please email Ken@gunsite.com so we may plan accordingly.
Guns and Ammo TV was at Gunsite last week filming for their upcoming season. Always a great group of folks. Once we know when the Gunsite episode is scheduled, we will apprise all.
Gun Stories is here this week. Always fun to see what they have in the gun cases. If you follow us on Facebook, you saw the photos of the Hughes Heligun, SN 1. It is a rare competitor to the Mini-Gun. Speaking of Mini-Gun . . . Watch the social media as we hope to see it fired later today.
Our industry partners Vista is here this week for in-service with their staff. Friends at Crimson Trace will be here soon for a media event. Speaking of Crimson Trace, have you considered the Crimson Trace 250 class later this Fall? Crimson Trace will be here with all the necessary equipment for you to learn not just a 250 course, but also with their lights and lasers. Always a great learning experience.
We also had a client bring his Johnson 1941 semiautomatic rifle in for his tutorial course. We had to give it a try as well. (Just to be polite.) It was a competitor in the M1 Garand trials, but unsuccessful. However, some saw action with the Marines in the South Pacific. Very unusual and very cool rifle to shoot.
Our training schedule has been full and gets more so as we get into the Fall season. A good problem we have had is finding enough ranges and simulators to support all the classes!
So, if you are wanting a class yet this year, I strongly suggest not waiting to enroll. Our classes are filling. The 2022 schedule is on the website if you are planning for 2022.
The annual Gunsite Alumni Shoot (GAS Match) is three (3) weeks out. Have you enrolled yet? The “Social Engagement Slightly Interrupted by Gunfire” is the grand soiree of the Fall Season. As always, the prize table is heaped thanks to our wonderful industry partners. The match stages are devious as ever. If I recall, there are about twenty-five (25) remaining entrants available. Don’t wait! Go to the website and get enrolled soonest.
Enough for this month.
We look forward to seeing you (back) at Gunsite!
When are you coming to Gunsite?
DVC,
Ken
