“Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.” Napoleon Bonaparte
April Fool is upon us.
Yes, I just listened to President Biden again, this time discussing more of his record number of Executive Orders. His directives that continue to erode our rights have now come to our unalienable Second Amendment rights. We can only hope that his actions, his in-actions, and his on-going mishaps and blunders when trying to speak will awaken the lions and cause rumbles among the sheep.
As you continue to experience the changes in our lives caused by the actions of the parties in power, it is imperative that you contact your Representatives and Senators in Congress and politely and firmly express your opinions. I have seen the standard response letter from Senator Kelly in Arizona when a conservative expresses their views to him. Even though he will not see our point of view, he needs to hear it. He is up for re-election soon. You must keep in polite contact with your elected officials.

Ammunition continues to be a challenge. Having said that, we believe we are seeing a turn in a positive direction. That is, using 9mm and 5.56 as benchmarks, we are seeing prices decrease as much as 35% from their high points. If this is the trend, and we can purchase at lesser prices as we try to build our inventory, we look forward to reducing our ammunition prices for our class packages. No promises yet, but we think things are beginning to look stronger. As always, our thanks to DoubleTap Ammunition for being such a great industry partner, keeping us in ammunition. We believe that Vista will soon be supplementing ammunition supplies at reasonable prices as well.
We had a change at the Gunsite Gunsmithy on April 1, 2021. Gunsite has a strong history of the best gunsmiths, starting with Robbie Barrkman through Kit Carson, Ted Yost, Cory Trapp and then Mike Moore. Mike has had some significant health issues the last few years and came to the decision it was time to retire from his many years as the Gunsite Gunsmith. (His personal business of Tac Drivers will continue, and Mike will continue to instruct at Gunsite.)
Effective April 1, Tyler Gunworks (Bobby Tyler) and Finks Custom Gunsmithing (Dave Fink) partnered and are now the Gunsite Gunsmiths. Bobby is well known across the country for his custom gunsmithing, bluing, color-case hardening, engraving and custom stocks. Dave is clearly a rising star in the industry as well, having a very successful shop in the Prescott area for several years. Gunsite looks forward to the new partnership with these gentlemen and their staff.
Classes continue at record levels this year. As Jeff Cooper said, “Just because you own a piano does not make you a musician.” It is such a point of pride that the many, many new gun owners are not just getting training, they are getting Gunsite training!
We cannot stress enough that if you are interested in a course, especially during the “prime time” this Fall, do not wait too long to enroll. Almost all the 250 Pistol Classes are doubled, and some are closed as they are full. The 350 Pistol classes are experiencing similar enrollments. We recently had to double the BRAVE class and the Concealed Carry Pistol courses. We have ammunition and are eager to train you. (We have two families here this week for a private class. What better way to “make memories” as my late church grand dame Helen Russel used to say.)
I have rambled enough for now. If you do nothing else today, use the links and contact your employees in Congress. The Republic needs you.
DVC,
Ken
