The month of April took us to the NRA Annual Meetings the week after Easter. There are many important issues confronting the NRA, and it is more evident than ever before that our 2nd Amendment rights are being attacked. In his membership speech for the 143rd Annual meeting NRA CEO & EVP Wayne LaPierre addressed the crowd and reminded them that no other institution in the world but NRA is so unafraid to take a stand for what is good and right. May and June offer many training opportunities with something for everyone but they fill up fast. We have a few slots left in the May 250 course before we have to cap it at full.
The 223 carbine course for May is full- the next available carbine class is June 16-20.
May 26-28 is the 260 shotgun course followed by the Shotgun Advanced Tactical Problems course on the 29th and 30th. You have the option of attending the 3 day course only or staying for 2 more days of fast paced advanced training. The shotgun courses have once again become extremely popular as people begin to remember and reacquaint with the value and versatility a shotgun offers for home defense.
With the vast selection of ammunition choices the shotgun fills many roles. At close ranges like inside a home there is nothing that compares with the effectiveness of a shotgun. But the shotgun is also very capable out to over 100 yards. The shotgun has been called many things including a “thinking man’s weapon”.
These courses will provide you with the skills and understanding needed to fully utilize one of the most effective and versatile weapons available.
May 12-16 offers the Gunsite Scout Rifle class. Based on our very popular 270 general rifle curriculum but tailored specifically for the Scout platform. Come find out how effective the Scout Rifle can be for personal defense, hunting and target shooting.
June offers another opportunity to attend the most popular defensive shooting class in the world- the Gunsite 250 defensive pistol course. There are only a few slots left, make sure you get one of them. Already taken the 250 course? It is a great course to re-take or recommend to a friend or loved one!
Our 499 advanced pistol class is currently full the week of June 9-13 as is our Close Quarters Pistol class. You can call or email to be put on the wait list for either of these very popular courses.
June 270 offered the 23-27 has 2 openings. This is the general rifle course popular for learning your rifle and optic in both self defense and hunting applications.As always if the class you want is full or doesn’t line up with your schedule we can arrange private classes and tutorials.
May 12-16 we will once again be hosting the Outdoor Channel’s ‘Gun Stories’ with Joe Mantegna and Michael Bane. This series first began 1 year ago here at Gunsite and it seems they never finish all that can be said about Gunstories. It is an exciting series and we are proud to host a great part of the program.
