How can it be the December Newsletter time already? It seems we just celebrated Independence Day and then the Gunsite Alumni Shoot. But the cooler Fall weather is here, with Winter to follow.
We continue to be busy at Gunsite. So many think we are as cold as Flagstaff in December, January and February. That is just not the case. (Just as we are not as hot as Phoenix in the summer!)
The US Navy is back this week for pistol and later this month for Long Range Rifle. The 250 the first week of December is ready to go. The first Night Vision Pistol and Carbine is scheduled as well.
The ever-increasingly popular Pistol Range Days continue December 8. These are one or two- day, weekend “refreshers” for graduates of our Pistol courses. (There are also range days for Carbine and Shotgun.) The Gunsite Rangemasters get the students warmed up and then it is all challenging events on steel, in the simulators, etc. The week of December 14 has our final class of the year with a 223 Carbine taught by RM Cory Trapp.
We do have one more Gunsite AZ CCW Class on December 15. Our class is a full day, shooting approximately 100 rounds. If you are looking to get your CCW, this is the class to take.
The new year rings in with another Pistol Range Day, 250 Pistol, The Well-Armed Women Trainer Course and a 223 Course. We will also have a contingent at SHOT Show in Las Vegas. Look for Buz, Ken, Dave, Jane Anne, Susan and several Gunsite Instructors wandering the aisles. (Remember to bring your hand sanitizer. No SHOT Show crud!)
Gunsite has had another grand year, training more students than ever. While gun sales may be down from their record highs, it seems good folks are taking the time to get great Gunsite training. When was the last time you took a class? On-going training is critical to keeping your skill level.
Look to the Newsletter for specials in the Pro Shop, including firearms. There also is a special for a Gunsite Pistol and a Course combination. During the annual epidemic of Yuletide generosity, there is still plenty of time to get that Gunsite Gift Certificate mailed to have under the Christmas Tree.
The Gunsite Staff thank all the Gunsite family, new and old, for choosing Gunsite as their training provider. Keeping good people alive is not just a job to us. It is what we have believed in for over 43 years, training untold thousands.
Please remember those in service this Holiday Season, (Public Safety, Military, hospital staff, and more) who are working while we enjoy the time off. They continue to serve for us.
Finally, recall the true reason for the celebration on December 25.
“Christians awake, salute the happy morn, Whereon the Saviour of the world was born. (John Byrom – Hymn for Christmas Day)
God Bless us all,
Ken
