I took the 250 when it was offered in the mid-90s. In fact, because using a firearm was such a new world to me, I took the 250 twice to make sure I was comfortable, solid and safe with the basics. Money well spent! I'd encourage any woman interested in learning the safe, competent use of a serious firearm to take this course regardless of her age or background. Stepping into an all-male gun-owners' world was a little daunting for a middle-aged leftie woman in a very left wing area who was working for the rabidly anti-gun University of California. But I forged ahead because 1) the trainers were 100% focused on safety and very supportive of me, and 2) because I've never been one to follow the herd. It would be impossible to overstate the confidence I gained, with my Colt and in my life, from my Gunsite education. I actually had a guy become really angry with me and leave the local range because I was shooting so much better than he was. Sorry, guy...spend the money, take the time to actually learn what you're doing. It's not gender, it's good training and frequent practice.
