10 years ago my wife and I took the three pistol classes and the edged weapons class. Except for the bruises from the edged weapons class we extremely enjoyed the experience. Fast forward a year and my wife is accosted in a parking lot. Due to the circumstances she was in condition orange. Moments later the attacker was lying on the ground in a pool of apple juice from a broken gallon glass jug. Police arrested a repeat offender. 250 training at its best. Fast forward 6 months and I am in the Subway parking lot when approached 'for change'. Upon refusing, the person took out a switchblade and demanded money. Got out of the car, putting the door between us, and took out and opened up my 3.5" folder and held it at my side. Seeing my knife he backed off and got into a vehicle and drove off. Edged weapons training in action. Now at the age of 63 and 68 we are planning our sunset visit to Gunsite to retake the 350 class for the third time. Who knows if we will ever have to put Gunsite training to the test again.
