Christmas 2024
Like so many of the Gunsite Family, it is hard to believe we are near the conclusion of another year. Weren’t we just preparing for the coming of the new Millennium?
We finish the last 250 Pistol Class of 2024 this week alongside the final 223 Carbine Class. Pistol Range Day is Saturday December 7 (Not too late to enroll!) followed by a few private classes, the last AZ CCW Class of the year, a media event and the Gunsite Chapter of Armed Women of America monthly meeting.
What a year it has been with additional work on the facility itself with more to come and another record student year. Next year (2025) is also filling quickly. Remember if you enroll in 2024 for a 2025 class, you do not pay the tuition increase. https://www.gunsite.com/gunsite-class-list/ (For those interested in the annual Pat Rogers Memorial Revolver Round-Up, fair warning that it is at 1/3 enrollment.)
If you are shipping a firearm to yourself for a class at Gunsite, please review the updated policy, especially as to labeling of the package. Fed Ex and UPS continue to challenge legal gun owners as to their shipping policies that are more stringent than what ATF requires.
The Gunsite Pro Shop is running a variety of sales for the holidays. Don’t wait so you can be sure shipping won’t negatively impact the arrival of a gift. https://gunsitestore.com/product-groups/on-sale
If you follow us on Facebook (or me personally) we are being watched closely by Meta and being punished and restricted. We also use Twitter/X and Instagram and are looking at other platforms that are citizen friendly. Another great way to let others know of Gunsite is by simply sharing your newsletter or sending your friends a link to the home page and directing them to the newsletter enrollment on the bottom of the page. https://www.gunsite.com/
The Gunsite Office, Pro Shop and Ranges will have limited hours on December 23, 24 and 26-27 and 30-31. We will be closed on December 25 so our staff can enjoy time with their families.
A reminder to our industry friends, the annual National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) Shooting, Hunting Outdoor Trade Show (SHOT Show) is rapidly approaching. You need to get your enrollment and reservations in place. As always, Gunsite will have a strong contingent there shopping and meeting with our industry partners and many Gunsite Family members in the crowd.
I continue to slowly work my way into the 21st century and have been shooting my FCG Gunsite 2011 Double Stack 9mm pistol. So far, zero malfunctions using my mixed bag of ammunition and I can only wish I could shoot up to its ability. My wife Shari (from the Gunsite Pro Shop) is also taking another 250 Pistol Course this week with her FCG 2011 and is doing exceptionally well. Long-time Gun Writer Dick Williams will have a story on these pistols in the next few months. It’s not too late for Santa to put one under your tree!

As the last Newsletter of 2024, we want to be sure to offer our thanks and gratitude to the Gunsite Family, new and old. It is amazing that we began our 49th year of business last October 1. With the initial leadership of Jeff and Janelle Cooper and now Buz and Sonja Mills (for the last 25 years), Gunsite continues to be the leader in defensive firearms training. We are not only grateful for their leadership, but also for the world’s best Instructors. Our great staff is the backbone of Gunsite and will be a large part of the next 49+ years. Thanks for all you do.We wish the blessings of the holidays to all the Gunsite Family, world-wide. Prayers to those who put themselves in harm’s way, at home and abroad, so we may celebrate. When we think back on the happiest moments of 2024, many of them stand out because of all of you. You deserve all the happiness the holiday season can bring.
Merry Christmas and a joyful Hanukkah,
Ken
